Adrian Sangeorzan (Bistrita, Romania, 1954) is an American physician, poet and fiction writer of Romanian origin. He graduated the Medical School of the University of Cluj and worked as a physician in communist Romania from 1978 until 1990, when he emigrated to the United States. He lives in New York and works as an obstetrician and gynecologist.<\/p>\n

He is a contributor to the online magazine of International Literature (Words Without Borders), and a monthly for the Romanian literary magazine \u201cRomanian Writing\u201d (Scrisul Rom\u00e2nesc). His poems have been translated into English, Chinese, French, German, Swedish, Arabic, Spanish, Polish, Bengali, Vietnamese, Uzbek, Italian.<\/p>\n

Literary work:<\/strong><\/p>\n His volume of memoirs and fiction \u00abBetween Two Worlds: stories of Woman Doctor\u00bb (2005) was first published in Romania in four editions. He published several collections of poems: \u201cMasked World\u201d (2020), \u201cThe Span of Memory\u201d (2018), \u201cThe Anatomy of the Moon\u201d (2010), \u201cTattoos on Marble\u201d (2006), \u201cVoices on a Razor’s Edge\u201d (2003), \u201cOn the Lifeline\u201d (2002).<\/p>\n The poetry book \u201cMasked World\u201d was published in Taiwan by the poet Kuei Shien Lee, four-time candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. \u201cMasked World\u201d was translated into German and presented at the Frankfurt International Book Fair in October 2022 in Germany.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He is also the author of the novels \u201cCertificate of Virginity\u201d (2019), \u201cExiled from the Womb\u201d (2012), \u201cBetween Women\u201d (2016), \u201cPathways\u201d (2017), \u201cThe Tap on the Shoulder\u201d (2015), \u201cVitali\u201d (2008), \u201cThe Circus in Front of the House\u201d (2007), and \u201cBetween Two Worlds: Women’s Doctor Tales\u201d (2005).
